Join us for Northumberland's FIRST County Wide Co-working Day for the Cultural Sector

Updated: Jun 17, 2022

A DATE for your diary! 22nd June 2022

As we start finding ways to work in partnership again, my cultural sector colleagues and I have started talking about how nice it would be to re-connect with each other both in person and online.

We feel like we're overdue a HUGE catch-up to see how everyone is. I also hear from cultural sector colleagues that they sometimes feel 'out of the loop' or 'can't keep up' with all of the fabulous work and opportunities available.

To give us space to get 'back in the loop' - I am delighted to share that I've organised a Northumberland Cultural Sector CO-WORKING DAY on WEDNESDAY 22 JUNE 2022.

What is co-working?

The idea is that you connect, create or work with someone else. You can do this in a number of ways;

  1. Invite someone to your space or in a cafe or other space near you.

  2. Attend one of the venue based spaces to work for the day or a half day

  3. Tune in with us online after the event.

You might have something you'd like to work on, a partner or a colleague you'd like to connect with, some art you want to make or just want to get inspired in one of our county's beautiful cultural venues.

The focus of the day will be to give freelance creatives, artists and those connected to the cultural sector MORE VISIBILITY. Our theme is - 'Let's get visible'

You can take part from home, invite a new collaborator to work with you in a space anywhere in Northumberland or come and work in one of our host venues in Northumberland.

Who's hosting?

There will be an 'in person' event at Alnwick Playhouse cohosted by North East Cultural Freelancers and Creative UK. Please register for a ticket to get access to the full programme of workshops, speakers and the opportunity to apply for Creative UK's challenge fund.

Spaces for co-working are confirmed at Berwick Maltings, Alnwick Playhouse Studio Theatre (acting as the main hub) and Queen's Hall Arts, Hexham. The CEO from each venue will be present and available for you to chat and connect with if this is of interest for your work.

Berwick Museum, Woodhorn Museum, Northumberland Libraries and November Club are also happy to have you pop in and work that day.

If you'd like to sign up to attend and be part of the day and give freelance creatives and artists more visibility please use the google form link below.
